What is TextDoc^TM

TextDoc™ is a pioneering patient-doctor appointment scheduling service by Typhoon Wireless. It manages patient queuing and appointment scheduling while significantly reducing administration work and patient wait times. It also improves patient show rate and punctuality.

How TextDoc^TM works

Each doctor is given a UNIQUE ACCESS NUMBER that patients will text for their booking schedule.

1. FOR FIRST COME FIRST SERVE CLINICS:
• The patient has to choose his preferred appointment date and send it to the doctor's access number through this format: BOOK <date> Ex. BOOK Sep22. The system will automatically queue the patient on his chosen date.
• To ensure that the patient will be able to make it on his preferred date, the system sends a RECONFIRMATION MESSAGE one day before the appointment.
• On the day of the appointment, the patient will be alerted on their expected processing time. If the patient is no. 20 and it takes an approximate of 10 minutes for the doctor to attend to each patient, the system will send a text to patient #20 that he is scheduled 3 hours and 20 minutes after clinic start.
• The system sends regular SMS alerts informing patients how they are progressing in their queue. In case of a clinic late start, the patients will also be informed accordingly. Theses alerts will help patients manage their time and not spend the whole day waiting for their turn at the clinic.
2. FOR CLINICS THAT TAKE APPOINTMENTS:
• Patients can specify their preferred time as well. Booking format is BOOK <date> <time>. The system will automatically reserve this slot. In the event the the preferred schedule is unavailable, the system will send the next available slots for the patient to choose from. A RECONFIRMATION MESSAGE one day before and a REMINDER ALERT on the day of the appointment will be sent to the patient.
